Troop 227 was first chartered in 1970 by the Santa Teresa Home and School Club.  In 1974, the Troop was chartered by the Rancho Santa Teresa Swim and Racquet Club and began meeting at the Club.  Over the 37 years of history, 33 members of the Troop  have attained the Rank of Eagle Scout.  The Rancho Santa Teresa Swim and Racquet Club, a not for profit homeowner’s association,  sponsors Troop 227 as a service to the youth of the community and a benefit of membership in the association. It is hoped that by offering scouting to boys between the ages of 11 and 18 that they will become better citizens and leaders, and have a safe haven where they can learn, grow and have fun.
